Ganesha Chaturthi, A Popular Indian Festival

Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated with extraordinary dedication all over India. Individuals bring home murtis (Idols) of Lord Ganesha and commend the celebration by worshiping the Lord specially for a day and a half, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days or 11 days relying upon the family custom and duty of every person. On the last day of worship the idol is taken out in a colourful and musical procession to be immersed traditionally at a beach.

This is one of the most famous festivals in the Country. There are a few explanations behind this. Ganpati is after all the prominent God. His blessings are invoked at most religious ceremonies as He is the one who can remove all obstacles to success. He is the giver of fortune and can help to avoid natural calamities.

Belief is a belief. When you believe in a belief very strongly that becomes a fact for the believer. And, that actually works very fine. Most of our Hindu brothers believe in Lord Ganesha that He helps them in their life. Every belief should be given respect. While the celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi, we should keep in our mind not to disrespect their beliefs in any way.

Will Hindus ever stop disrespecting lord Ganesha? When other religious people disrespect, they go mad, when they do it, they are blind to that.

Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) has also instructed not to disrespect anyone’s God. In the recent articles about unity b/w Hindus and Muslims, we could see people are nice to other religious people. We should also be nice to our religious people likewise. Ganesha Chaturthi, when celebrated, few of our Hindu Brothers should keep in mind not to hurt other Hindus’ beliefs and emotions. When the idol is taken to be immersed in a water body, they should make sure that the idols of Lord Ganesha are not disrespected. In the process of worshiping and pleasing Lord Ganesha, we inadvertently disrespect him.

Ganesha Chaturthi can’t be blamed for Pollution

Ganesha Chaturthi Pollution

This is not Celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi, but Destruction of it.

Pollution of water doesn’t only happen because of Ganesha Chaturthi, but for many different reasons. The festival comes once in a year and can’t be put the entire blame on it. Instead of blaming Ganesha Chaturthi for pollution, if we work on reducing pollution that would not only keep us united, but also happy.

These days the celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi is a great disrespect for Lord Ganesha. None is bothered what happens after the idol is immersed in a water body. None of us are really bothered. All we want is Ganesha helping us in getting whatever we want. That is what He is there for. We are not only disrespecting Lord Ganesha, but also hurting thousands of people who believe in Him.

Ganesha Chaturthi is an exceptional disrespect to Lord Ganesha these days. Pollution takes places in many ways. Ganesha Chaturthi can’t be blamed for that. Adjusting is life. But, hurting humans’ beliefs and disrespecting Gods shouldn’t be tolerated.
